These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of KeyDown, a web-based typing trainer available at keydown.io, operated by Eternity Cat, LLC ("we", "us", "our"), a Delaware limited liability company.
By creating an account or using KeyDown, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
KeyDown is a free and open-source adaptive typing trainer that analyzes your typing patterns and generates practice text weighted toward your error-prone letter combinations. All features are available to every user at no cost. The source code is published at github.com/eternity-cat/keydown under its accompanying license.
You must create an account to save your progress. You can sign up using Google, GitHub, or email/password via Firebase Authentication.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your account or let others access it. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

The KeyDown source code is licensed under the terms published in the GitHub repository. Your rights to use, modify, and distribute the code are governed by that license.
The KeyDown name, logo, and other branding remain the property of Eternity Cat, LLC and are not covered by the source-code license. You may not use them to imply endorsement of derivative products without our written permission.
Your typing data belongs to you. We use it only as described in our Privacy Policy.
If you participate in the global leaderboard, your display name and typing performance metrics (such as improvement score) will be visible to other users. You can opt out of the leaderboard in your account settings.
We aim to keep KeyDown available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features or the entire hosted service at any time, with or without notice. Because the project is open source, you may continue to self-host the software under its license if you wish.
KeyDown is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted, or that any defects will be corrected.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Eternity Cat, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising out of or related to your use of the service.
Because the service is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability for any claim related to the service is limited to USD $50.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Eternity Cat, LLC from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service or your violation of these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in English. You agree to waive your right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action.
For EU users: nothing in this section limits your rights under mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence. You retain the right to bring claims in your local courts if required by applicable law.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
