These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of KeyDown, a web-based typing trainer available at keydown.io, operated by Eternity Cat, LLC ("we", "us", "our"), a Delaware limited liability company.
By creating an account or using KeyDown, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
KeyDown is an adaptive typing trainer that analyzes your typing patterns and generates practice text weighted toward your error-prone letter combinations. The service is available as a free tier with core features and a paid tier ("KeyDown Pro") with additional statistics and analytics.
You must create an account to save your progress. You can sign up using Google, GitHub, or email/password via Firebase Authentication.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your account or let others access it. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
The free tier provides access to the adaptive typing engine, session statistics, weekly progress charts, streaks, and the global leaderboard. No payment is required.
KeyDown Pro is available as a monthly subscription, yearly subscription, or one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are listed on the website and may change. Price changes do not affect active subscriptions until renewal.
By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method at the start of each billing cycle. Payments are processed by Stripe.
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access to paid features until then. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial billing periods.
Lifetime purchases are non-recurring and do not require cancellation.
If you are unsatisfied with "KeyDown Pro", contact us at support@keydown.io within 14 days of your initial purchase for a full refund. Refunds after this period are at our discretion. Lifetime purchases are eligible for the same 14-day refund policy.
You agree not to:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violations of these rules.
All content, code, design, and branding of KeyDown are owned by Eternity Cat, LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the service without our written permission.
Your typing data belongs to you. We use it only as described in our Privacy Policy.
If you participate in the global leaderboard, your display name and typing performance metrics (such as improvement score) will be visible to other users. You can opt out of the leaderboard in your account settings.
We aim to keep KeyDown available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features or the entire service at any time, with or without notice.
If we discontinue the paid tier entirely, active subscribers will receive a prorated refund for the unused portion of their subscription. Lifetime purchasers will receive a reasonable partial refund at our discretion.
KeyDown is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted, or that any defects will be corrected.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Eternity Cat, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising out of or related to your use of the service.
Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Eternity Cat, LLC from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service or your violation of these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in English. You agree to waive your right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action.
For EU users: nothing in this section limits your rights under mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence. You retain the right to bring claims in your local courts if required by applicable law.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
